The Trainwreck is a famous cut from California that became very popular at the beginning of the 80´s and has proven able to stay at the top even after all these years. It is the result of a cross of a Thai, a Mexican and an Afghani plant—an explosive cocktail for a beautiful result. The Trainwreck expresses the growth typical of the Sativa plant, with a vigorous and branchy vegetative stage. The plant will grow vine-like in most cases and fill up the entire plant with flower growth. Trainwreck has a very particular green to it, a kind of paler and darker green combination that makes it unique. And the flowers, once they are formed, have that characteristic Sativa build-up, with fat, round calyx and big foxtails, but when combined with the compactness of the Afghani strain makes the plant also a great yielder and very resistant to stress. The smell of the Trainwreck is very particular and characteristic, a mix of fresh lemony-citrusy notes with a hint of menthol and some earthy background on the exhale. It is a beautiful combination that will hit you fast as you consume it. The effects are strong and long-lasting, with the typical Sativa head high and a heavy Indica body effect as well—a perfect strain for nighttime or experienced smokers.
